Worgohm emerged in 2024 when guitarist, leader, and founder of the band, Michel Oliveira, felt the need to develop a project that incorporated his influences from Djent, Tech Metal, and Prog Metal into a single platform. With an extensive career and being considered one of the pioneers of Djent Metal in Brazil, Michel has continuously stood out in composition and musicianship, and Worgohm is an extension of this work.
The name Worgohm doesn't have a specific meaning; it's simply a sound, perhaps an onomatopoeia. Inspired by Lovecraft's cosmic horror, Michel uses this project to explore, through his lyrics, the reality that, in the face of the vastness of the universe and its mysteries, we are mere grains of sand in the cosmos, insignificant.
The entire conception and production of the work are carried out by Michel, but during live performances, the band features a guest bassist and drummer. With English lyrics addressing themes like the evils of technological dependency, cosmic horror, and existentialism, Worgohm aims to entertain, surprise, and provoke important reflections in its listeners.
